Cusop and Hay Remembered

The stories of those who fought in 1914-18 and the happenings on the Home Front will be brought to life with news items, poems and songs on Friday December 7th at Cusop Church at 7pm. Miss Tunnard Moore a well respected personality from Cusop who was Commandant of the Red Cross in Hay will be hosting the evening along with her wolf cub pack and friends from the community. It all takes place amongst the wonderful poppy display and there will be mulled wine and nibbles to enjoy during the interval. We'd love to see you there. so why not come and find out more about how your local history fitted into the bigger First World War setting.

There may be a thousand worries,

A thousand of deep set snares,

There may be a thousand troubles,

A thousand of petty things,

That beat with tormenting wings, -

But what does it matter if someone cares,

If someone the burden shares. (Extract from a poem by Lieutenant Eric Percival St George Cartwright)
