Rev Frank Long Price
Past residents of Cusop
We enjoy finding out about past residents of Cusop and the article with an extract from the Cusop Parish Magazine for 1906 in the September edition of The Link prompted an enquiry from Merlin Evans.
“I had been told that my grandfather Francis Long Price had been a curate at Cusop before his marriage in 1901 so was surprised to see mention of Mrs F Long Price doing the altar flowers. Long Price is an unusual surname so I can only guess that this was my grandmother.”
We sent Merlin a electronic copy of the document compiled by Jackie Morris Cusop Church - Through The Front Door which contains many interesting extracts from the Cusop Parish Magazines from 1900-1950 and can be downloaded from the Cusop History Group website.
“Thank you so much for the extracts. It’s wonderful to discover my grandfather was the vicar and not the curate as I thought. He has quite a lot to say about poor church attendance!
It is exciting to think of him writing those words at the desk I now own and which has travelled from Hereford via Wales to the Channel Islands and back now to Clifford, full circle almost. It has prompted me to do more research for which I thank you.
My brother found me some scrap books to look through and I found this picture of him in 1902.”
